Kristie's Maternity Shoot

Over the weekend I had the pleasure of working with my sister-in-law Kristie again, on a small maternity shoot. We had a blast and giggled more than we probably should have, she was glowing with excitement that day, as we planned a special Halloween bash together. We are all so incredibly excited to meet Baby Noah this November!!! I will be doing a full-term shoot with Kristie and Josh later in the fall, and will share those pictures when I can, but for now I had to share some of these candid out takes of her warming up, is she not just drenched in joy!?!  Seeing Kristie so happy makes Jeremy and I a little eager to get our "baby ball" rolling! I was asked to participate in the birth of Noah so I think all this will gear me up for when its time for our little bundle of joy to come.Thank you Kristie and Josh for allowing me to be a part of documenting your pregnancy, it was/is an honor to be asked to photograph it...

I've been hard at work with several side projects and had Jeremy's Grandparents in town for the first half of the week. It was so nice spending time with them. We went out to Ashburn and visited Aunt Trish for her 80th birthday, which is just amazing in and of itself, her life is so full and lived! I hope to be full of stories and wisdom at that age. Anyways, here are a few bits of my week...

An Epic Visit/Tattoo/BBC...

Sorry for the lack of posts this week, I have some bug that escaped the pits of hell and infected my GI tract early Monday morning, so I've spent the week in bed indulging in my unhealthy obsession with the bbc...In case you're into British Tele I'll make a list of my current favorite series.

I received a call late Friday night from my best friend, Daniel letting me know he and his wife Carly and -what is perhaps the cutest/smartest child ever-Cora or "Bean" were on the way down from Pittsburgh for a visit! I've known Daniel since childhood and we went to the same elementary school back in Honolulu/High School in Maryland. I pretty much live for these visits because they usually involve dancing, non-stop laughter, and wine...

Hope you all had a fabulous 4th! Something about the 4th always makes it feel like summer is well under way....maybe all the bbq ;) 

Here in our neck of the woods we've had some terrible thunderstorms that have people still out of power! Hopefully by the time this posts most everyone will be back in business. My brother was without power for about 3 days, and we were in the triple digits, it was horrible!

But on to the nicer parts of the holiday.... I recently found out from my sister-in-law, Kristie that yours truly will be the god mama of the newest member of our family!!! Of course, I couldn't be more excited to welcome bay-boo (what I like to call him/her) as an auntie and god mama! This child has a whole lot of spoiled relatives waiting and ready for his/her arrival!

And we'll be getting to know the sex in the next week, I think we're all leaning towards boy except NaNa, who really wants a girl :) In the upcoming months I'll be sharing all of Kristie and Josh's baby shower planning that we're doing, as well as some fun DIY's that Jeremy and I have put together. Some of them will be posted on "Kristie's Baby Shower" board on my Pinterest if you'd like to follow our progress there too.

We are all VERY excited for bay-boo, including Peanut, who had to be included for some first kicks (hence the title) during the BBQ...

Home & Garden???

So first off, apologies on my week off after the first week of blogging. I'm sure that breaks about every blogger rule there is, but after a mystery stomach thing and a kinda weird weekend I needed some time to myself... Its fun to see that my traffic hasn't slowed down during my time away, thank you readers, you make me not feel crazy, like I'm talking to myself :) Things have been a bit hectic this month, I'll be posting exciting details as to why very soon. One of the fun projects I've taken on lately is gardening??? So why was that a question??? Because I've not the first idea as to how to garden. Nonetheless, being the Aqaurian I am an needing to be an expert in random fractions of things as well as constantly learning I needed something in between all my other "things." In a perfect world I'd be as good a gardener as I am a scientist, but alas that just ain't true! So I decided to challenge myself with my very first edible gardening project, a 5.99 "monster melon" I don't  particularly love watermelon or "sandia" as I grew up calling it, but I hear you can fill them up with liquor and have a "drunken watermelon" so I'm excited for the possibility of this happening by August. Jeremy and I also planted some cacti for his office, hopefully they survive because they are beautiful. Something about cacti at night has always been so serene and beautiful to me. Along with all these plants we had my brother over this weekend, he had a wedding on our side of town so I made him sleep over so I could see him in his tux...
